I did not travel specifically here to commune with nature and do the AU time zone fireside. I'm going to see the total solar eclipse that is happening on Monday. I do have my goggles, but my eyes are so powerful I don't need them. Don't worry about it. I'm just gonna stare without them. Yeah, I got my safety squints on. We're good. 

All right, so I do have Jabber, but I can't I can't read it and read my agenda So i'll i'll come back to you guys a little later and talk to y'all but Welcome to the AU TimeZone fireside. This is a first. Let's shout out Brodog. He was the one who suggested it in the first place and has been putting together everything that needs to be done for it. So, big shout out to him. He's a good representative of AU TimeZone and he wanted us to do something special. And you let AU TimeZone players know that we are, you know, caring about them, interested in them, and are looking out for them.

One thing about AU TimeZone, this has sort of always been the case, is that it, by almost definition, gets a little less attention than other time zones. Which is something that we talk about a lot and how to fix that. For some of you, that is almost a plus. Teacher's not here, no one knows when I'm up to naughty things. But it's something that we still like to consider. It leads to a different play style than most time zones. Some of it is sometimes slow and boring. Other times, it can be the most exciting time zone and in particular, as of the last year or so there's been a lot more happening in AU time zone than over previous years.

So, one of the things we want to address is recruitment and building a better community, a stronger community in AU time zone. So one of our major goals this year is recruitment and increasing our presence in this time zone, and it's something that we're working hard to achieve. So we would like it if you guys were already active in this time zone, got to experience more people, more new players, more people to on-board, more new friends that kind of thing is important to us. It's something that we're talking about a lot and something that You know, we're trying to show commitment to and that's, this is one of the little things that we can do is have have a fireside on the mountaintop at 5 a. m. in the cold weather. 

So with that said, I'm here to tell you guys about a lot. If you've tuned in to a fireside at the normally scheduled time You'll have heard some of it and some of it will be specifically for AU time zone, moon time zone, Chinese time zone All these time zones that we are addressing that happen near to this time. So the first thing I want to call out is Asshole Squad.

It's the home of Aussies and the two New Zealand players we have in the Alliance in the Imperium. And it's a social group and an active PVP squad for English speaking players in this time zone. And so to give you guys a little preview of what's going on there and what happens in Asshole Squad.

But yeah, basically being an Australian time zone group, we are a smaller group and we do &lt;sound cuts out&gt; and we tend to go out and, you know, we do social things such as spend an afternoon listening to the Triple J's Hottest 100 and make jokes of the Kiwis because that's a, it's a legal requirement in Australia.

We also have &lt;sound cuts out&gt; regularly and we get to make fun of them as well, which is really good. So yeah, a few of the fun things that we have done like &lt;sound cuts out&gt; and gone there and reffed the entire of Catch recently because we could and hopefully it meant that. &lt;sound cuts out&gt; U. S. had been on, had been there to go and shoot at structures that we had put into reinforcement.

What we're looking at is going and having some fun and some more fights with other Australian based. &lt;sound cuts out&gt; Basically have a bit of Aussie on Aussie action and beat the shit out of each other. So, always here for a good time.

All right, so we're going to talk about some things that you can do in Australian time zone, and some of this applies obviously to all time zones, but it's things that you can do to contribute to the alliance and it's something where we're looking to have you guys help out as much as we can. I'm going to talk a little bit later in the fireside about the state of where we are and what we're expecting in the future And so this is ways that you can contribute to the alliance. 

So one of the major things is f2s and if you don't know what f2s are it is the program where we try to encourage people to bring alts on fleets there was a major fight that happened just a few days ago, which unfortunately I was not able to attend Just F2s in that fight in low sec were a huge deal. And so that's multiboxing, dictors boosters, boosters. If you are running a logi running e-war, that kind of thing. F2 can really, really leverage your power as an individual in the fleet. And there are things that you can do. For instance, like running a crucifier is relatively simple. It's hugely impactful. It's also one of those things that is maybe not actually the most fun thing to do as an F1, but as an F2, you know, that you're really helping and you're going to do whatever your main thing that you enjoy doing more is. 

So, F2s is huge, and especially in this time zone where fleets are generally smaller. You know, if you have a 100 man fleet in this time zone, adding one more person, you're 1 percent more of the fleet. Whereas if you're doing it, you know, in another time zone and there's 500 people, that one person actually makes less of a difference statistically. So, having an F2 in this time zone is even more important than it is elsewhere.

Another thing I want to talk about is Dread Alts. On the fire side, I talk about Dread Alts all the time. And they are important in all time zones. If you have seen some of the Dreadfights recently they've been going on in any time zone and somewhat unexpectedly. So, having your Dread ready is a huge thing, and it's a fun goal to build to. And it's one of those goals that you can scale to the level of your commitment and your desire. So, you know, I just got several new Zirnitras and it was just something fun for me to get to. And once I had the pilot sitting in the Zirns, I was pretty excited, pretty happy. So that's a huge thing that you can do to be an F2. And remember, that's one thing we want you to do on an alt. Sort of the trap that people fall into is doing capitals in general on their main. Your main should be a sub cap focus pilot and then move capitals on to alts. So, dread alts is a huge thing that you can do that is super useful for the Alliance. And I would say in the past having a dread alt in Australian time zone might have been, I wouldn't say a waste, but less likely to be used. But in the current political climate in EVE, that is not the case. So having one available is a huge thing and a huge benefit to the Alliance. 

I should probably just mention quickly what we want you to build, and what we want are Zirns, Phoenix Navy issues and Phoenixes as our main thing, and then Revelation Navies, Revelations, Moros Navies, Moros, and then really far off is a Naglfar. So that's our, sort of our build priority. So, if you're wondering what kind of Dread Alt to get, that's what to do. 

When I get into what our goal and predictions are as an alliance, I'm going to talk a lot about building up your wallet having a fat wallet is the number one way to consistently be ready for whatever CCP throws at us, whatever Eve throws at us, whatever our enemies throw at us. Having a large wallet is a good way to attract a mate in real life. And it's a good way to have fun in Eve. So it's something where, and especially in this time zone there are unique challenges, but also unique opportunities that can be taken care of and taken advantage of to reach that goal.

And then the last thing I want to talk about on how to benefit the Alliance is Control Alt Delve. This is essentially our Alpha Clone program. And it's something I've been talking about other time zones. It's. It is a mandatory thing. We want everyone to have an alt who can fly a Ferox. This is an alpha alt. You do not need to have a Plexed account for this. And the purpose is that we can either have them forward deployed, or we can have them in Delve and have them ready to log in. So if we are fighting someone and they send some harassment, we can log in the Control Alt Delve fleet and we can take care of that. So I'm gonna assume that link is being spammed in Elysium right now. If you haven't done that, if that's something you're just learning about, or you've just been like, Oh, I'll do it later. Now's the time to do it. It's really important. And it's something that's always useful.

I said, I would talk about PVE in Australian time zone, and let's talk about the shortcomings of Australian time zone first. First Pochven is not super accessible to us. The reason being is that FRT in Chinese time zone really puts a lot of effort into Pochven. And then beehive and capital PVE is harder to do you know beehive is not always up in this time zone. And you know, it's sometimes harder to defend capitals, depending on who's available, what's available. So that's the unique set of challenges. 

The things that can be done, though, are, although there are more challenges, there are, in general, less hunters. So, it's something that can be put to good advantage. And one thing we've been pushing a lot, in all time zones, but is especially good for this time zone, are Stormbringers.

If you have not seen Stormbringer ratting, first of all, it's incredibly satisfying. It is just really fun to watch a ton of rats disappear to your group of Stormbringers. It's consistent high income as an individual. You, it's a multiboxing activity, so each account is only making sort of the normal amount, but the way it scales makes it so that you can make a lot of money in a little amount of time. It's really interesting because it creates three different income sources. And it's good to help new players. You get bounties from killing rats, obviously. You get MTU loot, which is essentially mining with guns. It's like how I like to talk about it. You are mining with a gun with the MTU loot and then you can salvage those wrecks as well. So there's three income sources from it and like I said, it's very satisfying to do a Stormbringer squad and the amount of wrecks that you generate is really impressive. It's it's something where if you can get one person in to a group activity and just try it and see it, you know, a preview of it, you will be really impressed.

And then you can add on stuff to the squad, like Lachesis, like Skimmy and you can swap Storms to DPS to defend your ESS to help other people defend ESS, so it's flexible and it also is great, like we said, for, you know, it's a multi account activity, so it helps with your, your F2s when you have your Dread Alts subscribed, that kind of thing, so it's great. It pays for that account, right? That's all kind of stuff that is important. And, you know one of the reasons that we highly recommend it as an activity, we recommend it in all time zones, but from our experience, especially in this time zone, it is really strong, really strong.

Other PVE alternatives that you can do is Delve burner missions.

That's basically farming slave implants or amulets they're called now which is, you know, a short burst of high income. If you'd like to just sell off your LP all at once and get a huge wallet donation that that's something that can happen with it. And we are obviously uniquely suited to take advantage of that. So that's a huge one that, that can be very good if you have the proper setup. 

And then Myrm and Ishtar ratting is the old reliable and especially in this time zone, the competition for an anomalies is, you know, if you guys ever rat in EU times, it is like every system is bustling and it's hard to get that in, you know, around this time, like I said, less hunters, less competition. That's a really easily scalable and it's only semi active in a way that Stormbringers are fully active. So if you like, I like the Stormbringer idea, but I don't like the, you know, effort that goes into it. This is one that's really good. And, you know, you can bring along MTUs, you can't get that loot. It's not the same level as a Stormbringer, but it's still, it adds up.

And then obviously this is passive income. This is available to everyone in all time zones, but you know, PI industry skill farms. Which you can, you know, fill out all your character slots, PI alts, and then do skill farming. I know Brodog does like 48, 000 accounts and just has Ishtar spinning, and he makes more risk than I can ever imagine doing that and having you..

Yeah, so we have guides to all of this kind of stuff, to all the ratting, the PI you know, all that stuff, but what I wanted to bring up as a whole is, in this time zone You know, when we talk about you know, beehive a lot in European and U. S. Time zone. But over here, there's a lot of opportunities that those time zones do not get and obviously some downsides that come with that. So we want to highlight the opportunities. And many of you know this, but some of you don't. And now you know about it. 

Moving on, I want to talk about the future of what we're going to be doing as an alliance and what you can do to help. So right now we are in a state of flux, and I have talked about this before. You may have heard it if you tuned in or listened to some of the recordings of the other five sides, but I wanted to emphasize it for this one because it may be even more important in this time zone. CCP will be making changes. We, I mean, they have said they're going to, they could be lying, I suppose, but they will be making changes and we do not know what they are. What we do know is that we have a really good group in leadership. We have, like in my opinion the best minds in the game you know, you look around illum and it's just a ton of really smart people and not only that this is an aside, it's some people have interesting jobs, right? Like I always like to find out what some of our directors do for their real life because they're often so interesting like it's just really talented group. And so i'm very very happy with the situation of us not knowing what's going to happen because I believe that we can adapt better than anyone and If we have to you know, Hernan Cortez it and burn the boats. We'll do that You know if you signed up to die of boredom and old age in your space combat video game Well, I'm sorry for you, but we're gonna do the best The best thing for us, right? We're going to do the best thing. We don't know what that is. We may not need to burn the boats. We may need to, but we're prepared to do it.

So what that means for you, this is getting back to the fat wallet, is now is the time to prepare. Now is the time to get ready. Things could change very quickly. We could get an announcement in a month or two or three that changes, you know, that it's like, it'll be like an earthquake, a seismic shift in how we play the game. And at that point, it's too late to prepare. At that point, you're a weasle with your warning lights on the side of the road. You need to be ready for this kind of thing. So How can you help the Alliance? And how can you get involved? And, I'm going to talk about probably the big three first. 

The Black Hand. They're doing a recruitment drive. The Black Hand is our spy organization. Being a spy in EVE, it's sort of like being a spy in real life. It's very fun. And it's not like being James Bond at all. It is the most useful job that you can have in EVE as far as impact goes. One spy can probably have more impact than anyone except maybe a great FC.

That's, that's about the only thing you can do. The, a great spy and a great FC are totally different people. And this is something that you can get involved with and we are doing a recruitment drive now. We love spies in this time zone. So that's one. 

Next up is something I just talked about being an FC. That's what I came up doing. And it's something that I have a real passion for and I, you know, I love to talk shop with FCs. I love to sit around and we talk about our fittings and our tactics and all that stuff. And it's one of those things where you need to be good at many, many things to be a good FC. You need to be a polymath, you need to be someone who, you know, can handle a lot of different scenarios, can handle stress. FCs are important. One thing that I want to talk about is we're looking for more bilingual FCs and we're looking for more English as a second language player, because we have people who in the past, they have joined up, they've become an FC and they, they tell us, Oh man, for like a year or more, I didn't do it because I was worried that I didn't speak English well enough.

And that's so rarely the case. It's one of those fears that is really overblown. So, if you're listening in and English is not your first language that does not mean that you cannot be an FC. You can be an FC specifically for your language, but if you speak some English, which you probably do because you're listening to me talk, then we want you to try it out, you know, if, if this is the push that you need to get over the hump and do one fleet, give it a go, you know, and, and just see what happens. And I promise you that the most likely scenario is it'll work really well. Most, most players who are in fleets know the basis of what's going on and they don't need you to give, you know, a reading of William Shakespeare, right? They need you to tell you to warp to gate. So you can become a great FC.

And also I know a lot of players, a lot of EVE players in this alliance who are English as a second language. And becoming an FC has just really improved their English. It's just practicing and putting them in situations that amps up their career, actually. I mean, that's one thing that I think is really cool about it. So FCing is probably, is the second leg on our three legged stool.

And the third one is scouts. Scouting is the active version of the black hand. And it's one of those things that you can do on your own time. And so a good point about this is some of you have commitments, you know, Oh, my family might need me at any time.

Oh, my boss might call me, you know, I can't do a three hour fleet. But you love being in the Imperium, you love playing EVE Online, you love being part of the story, and I love being part of the story, I love helping you guys be part of it, and being a scout is one of those things where, you know, if you have to run, it's okay, you know, that, that's just something where we understand and, and, It's a thing where you don't have to be there for the whole three hour fleet, so you can contribute in a meaningful, really meaningful way without having to put in the time commitment that you do in other scenarios. So that's another thing that we are recruiting. If that sounds good to you if you are the person who likes to be active and help catch the enemy out, scouting is a great way to do it.

There are a bunch of other ways to Be involved in the alliance. Scanner bees, guard bees, GSOL Gooniversity faculty becoming a developer. That's just listing off five. I don't have any more fingers, so I can't give you any more of them, but that's five of them for you. If any of those sound good to you, we have the recruitment center. It is a good place to learn how you can help the alliance. You're not required to help in any way. Our goal as directors is to make your game as fun and enjoyable as possible. That is, as your leader, that is the thing I think about the most, is what are your goals, how do I help you reach them, and how do we support you doing that? Our job is to serve you, and if you come with that attitude, good things will happen. And I think that's why we've seen good things happen in this alliance in this coalition over the last few years. And the credit goes to all the people who have stepped up to be a part of it. And I, I enjoy, you know, playing with you guys a ton. 

So, I've really kind of monologued for quite a bit, but I wanted to give a real, real full overview for those of you who maybe don't always get to hear all the things we talk about on the Fireside because it is, you know, in the middle of the night for you. So that is, that's the overview of what's going on in the Alliance, of how you can help. Of how you can help yourself win, how you can help us win, and how you can succeed.

What's the minimum amount of counts needed to run Stormbringers semi efficiently? Four is probably what you want to go with, bare minimum. That's a lightning rod and three storms. That'll do it. Five gets a lot better, but four can be done. 

How's the catch war going? I wouldn't call it a war, but we are flipping things back. On our own schedule and we basically have some dinner bells we can ring whenever we want to. And those fights will probably be pretty well timed for Australian time zone players in that we get to, like, take the fights that we want that are good, which could coincide with either early Australian or early EU. Those are sort of the options. 

Asher might be worth noting the deaf people writing the FC's words could help deaf members. So, Ryo RyoKen, we, we had a program for deaf people, but I don't know, that may have fallen a bit to the wayside, and then I haven't heard about it for a little bit, so, that's actually a good thing, I'm going to check in on that, because we do have some deaf members, and having a deaf relay can be very useful.

Yeah, that's true, and then another overlap that you see is especially Western timezone US can, you know, if you're a bit of a degen nightowl in Western time zone US, you can roll into Australian time zone pretty easily, especially early Australian time zones. So there are definitely team ups. If you are a fan of comic books and you've read the Marvel team ups, you might have seen some similar team ups with different time zones in Australian time zones.

That's a really good question. I, I would be lying if I said I was not worried at all. I am confident that we will be able to handle the changes. I am not such a pessimist. I know there's people who think CCP are out just out to kneecap us. I don't believe that's an intention, intentional thing. And I don't think it really has ever been except for a few scenarios where it definitely was but yeah, I'm excited. You know what? I'm excited. I'm excited In that way remember when you were a kid and you're about you were gonna want to trip the next day, and you kind of had butterflies in your stomach and you were worried, but you're also excited. My rule of thumb is just don't blow your load too early It's really easy to get super excited about that, and those are the kind of things that you want to wait till mid or late fight to deploy. Don't do them at the start of the fight.

Do we have any plans to kill Gate Camp guys? Generally? No. Like the, the problem with killing Gate camp guys is that you can counter camp them. You're generally not able to get any kills off the traffic that's going through 'cause they're camping in your space. So counter gate camping has rarely been a thing. If you can go shut them down yourself or with a group, it's actually excellent and it might discourage them. But I've been playing long enough to know that, that, you know, there's only so much you can do. 

If you were a soup, what kind of soup would you be? I would be a hearty beef stew. 

Do you see supers or titans being relevant? And, man, it scrolled up, but yeah, something about dreadnoughts in the current meta. I see a possibility for them, but dreadnoughts are certainly The backbone of the fleet, if you if you follow all the talk about power generation these days, but, you know, renewables, and then they talk about baseload, what we'll do to baseload, right? Dreadnoughts are your baseload, your your supers and titans are more, your your, you know, you use them at the appropriate time, but you need that baseload of dreads.

Yeah the Zirns were really good in Ahbazon, and we've been pushing Zirns for a while, and obviously, they did a great job.

Supers are kind of dead in the AU time zone. Should we still keep them? I mean, it's obviously your own personal choice, Ryuken, but I, I would not sell mine. You know, if I was an Australian time zone player, I wouldn't sell mine. Supers and Titans have always been something that, you know you break out of the glass, you know, rarely. When you buy one, you should hopefully know that. Dreads will be used more, and subcaps will be used more, that's just the nature of things. And yeah, the meta changes all the time, things can happen. Like, you know, I have no data here, I don't know, I don't have any backdoor secrets, but like, if CCP reintroduced super or titan ratting in a new way, or a new anom for an nullsec, I wouldn't be surprised by that. Like that just makes sense to me. Players love Titan ratting. I'm sure they have survey data saying this. It would put them out in space as targets. Like, yeah, maybe, maybe Titan ratting comes back, you know, six months from now. So you never know what's going to happen.

Bernins talking about a railed Moros. Moroses are good ships. I, we don't, we don't poo poo them. 

Now that the MER has been released, how happy are you with the outcome of the BISTOT mining rule? Get your CCP emotes out because they changed the basis of how they calculated it and really spiked our data.

So we are looking to normalize it and try to figure that out. But as far as I know, at least last I checked and keeping in mind that I have been sort of out of pocket for a little bit. We do not have that info yet. Thank you. So I don't, I don't have a general opinion from the data. I do have the general opinion from people I've talked to that the bistor rule seems to be working well. But there are some edge cases where it doesn't work as great as we would like. These are always the trade offs that you have to make. So I'm going to wait until I see if we can get some of this data, you know, normalized and figure out if it actually, you know, made a difference. And to what degree.

All right, I got a couple minutes of questions, so if you got questions, throw them out quickly and then we'll wrap it up. 

As a one account miner, this is hard. Ratting in Ishtar is better than spending the afternoon on a bistor rock. You have hit the most important point there Mizu Uzu, in that you should not be a one account miner. That's just how mining works. In the same way that you shouldn't be a one account Stormbringer ratter, yes, you should be running an Ishtar. Like that is sort of somewhat of the point. If you are one account mining, you are doing it wrong. I'm not going to tell you, you can't do it because it's your life. You can waste your time if you want to. But one account mining is really not supported by CCP. The only way that like I might one account mine is maybe in Pochven. I'm sure there's some other you know, weird edge cases, but in Delve, yeah, you're much better off than a new start.

Always do PI on the side, yep, we always need more PI. Also, if you have only one account, diversify ISK generation, do a little bit of everything because you never know what CCP is going to nerf something. Langenmeyer, that's good advice. It's also more fun. I mean, at least for me, I know some people really get into the zen mode of trying to perfect their art and they have their, their little sand sculpture that they're always trying to carve. That's not what I like. I like to try different things. So I, I, I would just recommend that for fun, personally. 

Any chance of deploying the Palantine Keepstar? As Beyond Nox has mentioned, we are 54.8 percent done. It'll be a long time. We're talking on the span of years before that thing is ready. And then deploying it at the right place and time will have to also be something we think about. So keep playing Eve and keep waiting for it. We are no longer nowhere near 69.420. 

When can we access March participation metrics? I believe you're talking about the ones that are done by Atrum. It's when he has time to do them. Generally, he gets them done relatively speedily, but sometimes he's busy and they will show up when they show up. Sorry for not having a more definitive answer, but it's just always been that way
