Asher Elias:

Alright, 1100 are on. Hello, hello, hello, hello. So we've had a pretty big week. We're going to have a regular fireside here, and then soon afterwards we're going to set out with some fleets. I'm going to give you guys the strategic update on what's going on.

So six days ago, we dropped a Fortizar next to the Panfam PAPI staging Fortizar, sorry, staging Keepstar in F4R2, we dropped it in EU time zone. That is our best time zone and their best time zone. So it is the most likely place to get a fight.

We have been watching them over the last few days, and over the last few days they have been in a full evacuation mode. They have been jumping their dreadnoughts out, and they have been moving their subcapitals away. So we, we've given them every advantage. We have dropped it under their jammer. And it is looking like they will not be attending, at least in the sense of a full fight, you know all kinds of ships. Now they can rage form, they can do that.

So why am I telling you guys this? We're going to form up full fleets. We're going to go in there. We're going to do the job. But I am letting you guys know, for those of you who, you know, it's super late or you're staying up for it or whatever this is tuning your expectations. So what we will be doing after this is we'll be forming fully, we'll be going in and we'll be making sure we do the job correctly.

But, by all indications panic is setting in over there. They Their evac was very what's the best way to say it? It was unorganized. They were unprepared and it was done very quickly. It certainly feels like the command and control layer over there is, is stretched out and confused.

Now, if you ask me, Asher, why are they evacing? And here's what I'm going to tell you. I don't know. I don't know how to answer that for you. Like I said, we have dropped the fort in their best time zone. It is our best time zone too. That just makes sense. That's where you're going to get the biggest fight. And we've done it under their jammer.

They have jammer control. They have a keepstar there. We have nothing in system that we can warp to they can put jammers up. So that's why we are so fully prepared to go in. But they have bravely decided to. move one jump away. Now that means that they can jump in very easily. You know, those dreadnoughts they've moved are easier to jump in and they're not like turning tail and running home as of yet, but it is a very confusing move overall. The signals that they're sending to their guys are confusing to say the least.

You may recall that when we dropped the Fortizar, we also reffed the Keepstar because we had, you know, time and we were in system, and Horde made a post about how one goon showed up to the Keepstar timer that we never told you guys about because we just did it while we were there. I, I expect that that that's going to sort of age like milk if they do not show up to defend this timer. What I expect at this timer is potentially bombers you know, maybe Cormorants or something or, or potentially a flash form, which is why I said why we're going to go ahead and do it you know, with full power and full intensity.

Yes, as Kaznir said by the book, but that's also why I'm conveying this to you guys. I don't want to be like, yeah, let's get ready and then just have them not show up when we already have the feeling that that might be the case, because I value your guys time. So if you're in a time zone where, you know, it's coming up on midnight or whatever, then you know, consider this your information.

Okay, so let's talk about the state of the galaxy right now. I've been talking about this for the last few Firesides, and basically we are in a time of considering what the future will be, and We're going to have a interesting period where we are waiting to hear what CCP plans to do with NullSec. So that is really muddying our sort of medium term planning time horizon. This is something that we talk about a lot. What is our short term plan, our medium term plan, and our long term plan and long term in this case would be 1 year plus No one in EVE has like five year plans except the most basic of ideas. You just can't plan that far ahead in a game like EVE, but so a long term plan is like a year ahead. And that's what we talk about. And certainly long term and medium term is muddy because we do not know what CCP plans to do, we just know they plan to do something.

From what I am seeing here the It just backs up what I've said before is that I feel like we have the best team to you know, to handle this and to whatever changes they come out with, we will come out on top. I'm very happy with the state of the alliance, the state of the coalition and where we are right now, you know, 1250 of you showing up right now is also just a good sign about that.

Regan asked, are they going to break the Sov system again? So, the Sov system was broken with FozzySov, as far as my opinion. It was never better than Dominion Sov, and I don't think it can get too much worse. I could be wrong. But I think that any changes will probably end up being positive just by the nature of there's not much worse to get. And we are indeed elite PVPers.

So, what does this mean for our short term and medium term future? Medium term is where we're waiting and seeing. Short term, we're going to get this forward online. And then we're going to look at our options as far as what's close to home, what we can fight. And we'll probably try to force more fights if we can. What we do know, and I am very confident in telling you this, is that their command layer is stressed, their FC layer is stressed. And I want to credit that to, first off, our FCs who are going out pretty much every day, and you guys who are attending. We had a little, little like gully in numbers as far as those going on the everyday fleets a few weeks ago, but they've shot back up. And that's really helpful for FCs. So let me just say that if you don't get to see maybe necessarily the stress on their you know, their alliance, their leadership layer, then let me tell you, it is there, it is noticeable and we definitely see it. So please continue going on those fleets. We're sending them out every day. They're ending up being, ending up being very fun and very enjoyable to go on.

And As far as trying to force a fight, we'll keep doing that. We'll look for some new opportunities to do that. There's always the chance that we get one here, but right now it's seeming unlikely, it's seeming like they're going to bravely retreat. I don't know what more of an advantage we have to give to them. The only, you know, the only other thing we can do is fight strictly in Chinese time zone. And that's something that we're, we're not gonna do a campaign at that level. We might do some individual fights at that level, but there's just, it just doesn't work that way. Most of you are not in Chinese time zone.

Alright, I have some other stuff I want to talk about. So what I'm going to do here is I'm going to field some questions for you guys right now. And then I'm going to go into some of our stuff like our updates and that kind of thing. So, why don't you throw some questions at me and then we'll hit some agenda items after that.

If so, dudemanandy asked me something in Mumble. It scrolls by quickly, but here's the thing. We don't answer the questions from Mumble. They're very hard to read. Join Elysium on Jabber. E L Y S I U M Elysium on Jabber, join that channel. Go to conversation and join, if you don't know how to do it, conversation and join, and join Elysium.

If you...

Apple Pear:

It feels like you're giving like a State of the Goonion based on these numbers, Asher.

Asher Elias:

It feels like our guys are ready to fight. That's what it feels like to me. Yeah. Our dudes, our dudes are ready to fight, and when you see these kind of numbers for what is just essentially a Fortizar timer on a Saturday one begins to understand why our enemy is sort of, sort of quaking. Our numbers are crazy and that's a good thing. We're going to put them to good use. If this, if that's what we're going to form, we're going to use them well.

Drake fleet, when? Drake's are actually kind of coming into the meta, but they're.... we're probably not going to use them soon.

I appreciate you guys screaming. We will get you blood.

For guys who can't, this is a great question. Durban war says for guys who can't is T1 logi or tackle preferred. So I would just switch between the two of them. Tackle. Tackle is something where you have to be patient, like if you're, if you're the kind of person who wants a Leroy Jenkins and just run into them screaming at the start of the fleet, in tackle it's actually not that useful.

You have to be kind of circumspect T1 Logi is always welcome and always very useful, and because enemy FCs often will go through and shoot like all the Scimitars, they will kind of forget about the Scythes it means that often times you live for a long time, and Logi is just fun anyway.

Logan asks, are we going to war? So that's, that's sort of what I'm talking about with medium term is we don't have, like, if, if, if you'd mean war, like, are we going to invade the drone lands? Probably not. We're not going to go fight into a Chinese time zone timer with so many changes imminent for something closer to the home, then that's a lot more possible.

Snipereagle01:

Somebody asked about control alt delve. While we're not deployed, it's a great time to get a character into Control Alt Delve and get it training so that it's ready when we do need it, which we will need it again at some point.

https://goonfleet.com/index.php/topic/330166-control-alt-delve-alpha-clones-to-defend-delve/

Asher Elias:

So she asks, is Init deploying and if so, are we impacted? Init has moved to Curse so they are deployed and The way that impacts us is if there's a fight, they're closer to us than they were before.

Ghoster asked me a question that I assume is a 40k question, and I don't know.

Is it worth undocking my dreads with T1 guns? I think that we, I think we still allow T1 guns. If you, if we do, then yes.

Apple Pear:

We do.

Asher Elias:

Oh, it's HellDivers II? I have not played HellDivers.

Kazanir:

The correct answer is the Illuminate. Thank you.

Asher Elias:

There you go. Thank you guys.

Kazanir:

We'll come back to this. Yeah.

Asher Elias:

I don't play video games, so I'm just not aware of your references, sorry.

Apple Pear:

But, Asher, any dread is better than no dread, so.

Asher Elias:

Do I move my medical clone to Fortizar in a particular place? Alright, Styx I know you wanted to talk about Sigs and Squads, I'm giving you three minutes.

Stickzability:

Cool. Oh, I did have an answer on the dreads. It might be the siege though, but I think the way we were kind of doing that is make sure you're training the T2 guns or T2 siege, and that'll go a long way in getting the necessary. So Sigs and Squads. Thank you, Rasa. Hold on, let me get the link.

Apple Pear:

You lost 30 seconds already.

Stickzability:

So, lots of Sigs and Squads, go join them. A lot of them are really wanting numbers. There's a lot of them if you want to make money, if you want to PvP. Sometimes they do both. Locust squad obviously a staple. Faction bees, if you're very low SP, you don't have a lot of money. You don't want to sit here and buy a bunch of different battleships. They use like frigates and cruisers all the time for their stuff. They get it. They get some PVP. They get some, they farm a lot. Yeah.

The Incursion squad. I actually think right now they're farming vanguards in, in Aridia, like right next door or they were, I don't know if that one's still there. They're real easy. They use like Gilas and Ishtars. So that one's very easy. Pochven, Pochven prints tons of money. Like if you have the Isk to invest and you have multiple characters, you need to have Booshing and Dictor alts. It's a requirement. It's how the SIG works. It's the best way to get in and take take advantage of the triangle.

There's some good PVP ones. There's, you know, Bee Foreign Legion, Valhalla squad, Asshole squad where you can go and join some of those people and you don't have to sit around and wait for main, main fleet pings. There's just. Little groups that go out and do their own thing. And try to have fun.

There's also groups that you can join to help the Alliance. Scouts is always recruiting. GSOL is also needing people. Sopleb informed me that he needs a lot more people. So if you want to help do some logistics, you can always go do logistics. I forgot beehive. Sorry, Apsalar. You can go go do crab beacons. It's pretty easy. Follow the instructions. You'll, you'll probably survive. If you follow the instructions, I can't say that enough. And then there's some social stuff. There's the siren just these four real quick. There's the siren swarm ladies, and then like Habla GSF and French swarm there.

They're quite active. So join those if you're interested in those kinds of groups. So that's it. If you guys have questions, just let me know.

Asher Elias:

Alright, thanks Stickz. So while you were talking, Object 430 Object asked, Is there a story about the two people who got called out recently in pings? So Object Rest In Piss is what happens when someone is promoted. Generally, in GSF, you are promoted against your will because you show dangerous levels of competency. And then you're given space jobs, and so we let them know to rest in piss because they now have space work. So that's why you see people F'ing in the chat for them.

Yeah, I was asked the other day, like, do you guys pay your FCs? Like like they meant like real money. I was like, you have a, you have a real, you're a real shock if you think we got real money lying around to pay people.

Snipereagle01:

If you're a lore enjoyer like Kazanir there's a big thread in Ask a Director that explains the origin story of the Rest in Piss ping.

Asher Elias:

And hey, did you guys know that, like, 10 isk is the average wage for someone in the New Eden galaxy?

So everyone here is like a, like a crypto millionaire. Exactly. Kazanir, you want to talk about the Imperial Truth, the Bistot rule?

Kazanir:

I do. So, if you haven't heard, we are experimenting with a mining rule, which says that if there is Bistot in the belt or the anomaly, you must mine the Bistot first. The reason for this is, well, we went around, there was only Bistot in the belts and they weren't re popping, because if the Bistot just sits there and no one mines it, it takes three or four days for the belt to re pop and you get new good ore. If you, by turns, if you mine the bistot first and then you mine the good ore, the belt is all gone. It re pops instead of days, it re pops in a few hours. So it's much better. We decided to allow C type crystals and say, mine the bistot first, anywhere it's present. And we're going to look at the MER next month.

The main thing is this is pretty bad for the solo miner, someone who is just getting started and they only have their one ship. And of course they're looking for the hottest ore out there. They're never going to get all the way through a belt So the right thing to do is to get them into someplace that they can mine better ore.

And it turns out that Styx just finished talking about some of those. In Pochven, you can mine awesome ore. With Locust, you can mine awesome ore both out of our moons and in Lowsec, all over the place. So they and, In your member corps, we're in the process of giving away, I think over a hundred, maybe over 200 additional moons within Delve to member corps so that your corps should have more options for you to mine also.

So that, if you are one of those people who is like, hey, I was mining mostly Arkanor or Mercoxit because you, you know, you didn't know, for example, you're new to the game, It just looked like the best, or you could, there are more options for you that are even better than that, and that's where you should be spending your time. Whereas the guys who have already scaled up, they have 3 or 5 accounts or more, they can get through one of these belts much more quickly. That's who is intended to be churning the anomalies and the belts, because that's the best organization for this. I'm happy to take questions after talking for 60 seconds.

Asher Elias:

I'm gonna ruin that. Guys, if you say Pochven, put P O C H in Elysium, but you say Pochven, put P O C K. Let's see, let's see what it is. I think Poch is winning by quite a bit.

Snipereagle01:

Nice fit, by the way.

Asher Elias:

His Raven was fit with the following.

Can, can you guys explain this, like, Respectfully Heroes by Account Debited in 1DQ meme?

Because I've seen this a few times and I do not know anything about it. Yes, this. What is going on here?

Snipereagle01:

It was an alliance mail.

Asher Elias:

Oh, I don't read my mails, that makes no sense.

Snipereagle01:

None of us do, don't worry about it. We just cry about having a fucking red dot on the icon.

Asher Elias:

Yeah. Oh, but he signed his mail, so you know it's important.

Apple Pear:

Did we fine that Corp for, like, behaving bad people or the person for sending alliance mails? Or yell at them. I hate clicking alliance mails away. You know, it's just, it's a role that you just remove from everybody. Communication manager. Like, you lock it down and then nobody can send corp mails, nobody can send alliance mails. Everybody will be so much happier.

Asher Elias:

Yeah.

Kazanir:

I wanted to take a second. This thread that Sniper mentioned. The Rest in Piss story is really such a good thread if you've never read it before and you want to understand more about How over the period of like 15 years this alliance has not broken down and has not fallen apart with drama at the leadership level, this is like the one of the Bible chapters to it is this post. It's really good in spite of the name meme, you know It's actually a serious post, it's not only a joke.

https://goonfleet.com/index.php/topic/202370-how-directors-are-made-the-rest-in-piss-story/page-1

Asher Elias:

Alright, so we're going to start forming after the fireside, so I'm going to take questions for a little bit longer, and then we'll get it formed up and move out. If you've got questions, go ahead and throw them in there.

Aoife asks, where's new doctrine? We are not going to do new doctrine today. No reason to bring it out today.

Is there a local spam thread on goonfleet. com? There's like the wiki if you're looking for what to spam on local. If, if you want to have like a log of people saying dumb stuff, go ahead and just make a post and space gibbous.

https://wiki.goonswarm.org/w/Local_Spam

If horde continues to run from fights, can we glass their stuff in Catch? That is certainly an option.

How much bistot have you mined? Or are you cherry picking the belts, Asher? So I went to, I'm not really a miner. I'm over 18, but I went to Pochven for a week. I try to do everything that people are doing. I still haven't done PI, but I try to do everything that, our, you know, miners or I guess just our, our crabs are doing. So I understand, you know, enough about it. But the things that have not done yet, I haven't really done PI and haven't done building, but I went to Pochven for a week and I mined there and it was it was fun. And I made 5 billion is, which was pretty good, I think, for the amount of effort I put into it, which was very low. So yeah I haven't mined Bistot in Delve though. I did do one of the combat anoms in Pochven and we got pushed off and nothing happened. And everyone was like, this is the worst one we've ever done. So apparently I just I just messed that one up. Yeah, Pochven really does print a ton of money.

Palatine Keep, no update, Cassador. That's we haven't done anything this week.

Snipereagle01:

But I hear Sopleb still needs a shit ton of P4s for it.

Asher Elias:

Raven asked about the Leshak Doctrine and the nerf to Trig Guns. We're, we're not super concerned about it.

It, it's a, it is a loss to the Doctrine a bit. You know, it is a nerf, but we don't think it makes it unviable. Logan, probably not.

Yeah, we haven't really done PI here for a little bit longer, right? PI is very important and we always run out of it, so. It's, it's something important.

Sopleb:

I think I need like 185 billion worth of P. I.

Asher Elias:

There you go.

Sopleb:

So P4 is fine.

Asher Elias:

Can Leshaks fight or are they only for bashing? No, they fight very well.

Tengu doctrine when? Tengus are a pretty reasonable ship right now. I don't think we have any plans for it, but they're, they're pretty fun.

Dan Boucher asks about PVE Stormbringer fleet in 1DQ1? So that's something I want to do. It's obviously we can't do it this week, but I'll probably do it after some fireside or we'll just do We'll just do, you know, a ton of Stormbringers. And I want to see how high in three hours we can get the bank. That's really what I want to see. I want to see if we can just get that thing to levels never seen before.

Like, can we get like 3 billion in the bank? Maybe four, something like that would make me laugh.

Thunder child doctrine when? Without buffs and changes to a lot of things, Danica never, so Thunder childs are extremely expensive. Thunder children. I don't know. Thunder children are extremely expensive. Ammo, like, say your Thunderchild fleet shoots one volley at a caracal and kills it, you probably lost money, because the ammo is too expensive and they just don't apply well, everything about this is essentially bad. Stormbringers are good ships, Thinderchi-, Thunderkids are not.

What are the priorities that everyone needs to set up? I know of the PI, but are there others in the same vein? Says Viriel Kusani. That's a good question. So, obviously the number one priority is to get yourself prepared. The thing that we're pushing most, and have been pushing most for the last year, is get everyone in a Dread. We have seen our Dread numbers increase. Honestly, they haven't increased as much as I would like. I would like to see us continue to get more people in the Dreads and Dread Alts. As far as from your personal setup, as long as you're making ISK somehow, then it doesn't matter, you know, what you do, we say things that are good for the alliance and that we would like you to do. But if you're prepared personally, then that's all that needs to be done. PI is obviously very good. If you want to contribute in a way mining and then obviously keeping the ore in Delve, and this is something important for Pochven as well, important for if you go to Losec, you know, bring that ore back to Delve. That's super important. We strongly, strongly discourage shipping it to Jita because you're just arming our enemies then. So That's a way you can help if you want to become a builder, you know, that's the kind of things where you're, you're making yourself money, but you're adding a lot of value to the economy if you are ratting an Ishtar or whatever. And to be fair, this is generally what I do. You're not adding a lot of value, but you know, your money does go back into the economy when you spend it in 1DQ.

Lieutenant Gann asked, do you remember those cards from the 80s that had little immature parodies of various consumer products? I think that was a little before my time. I don't recall what you're talking about.

Yeah, the Zirn is still good, Alabama Jack.

KarmaBad asks about amulets. I'll let a finance director talk to you about that. I don't have enough to say on it in an intelligent manner. Can we have a florida man doctrine yet? Have gators dropped in price at all? Not, not nearly enough.

Snipereagle01:

Join asshole squad.

Asher Elias:

Can we bait NPC delve hot droppers until they stop? So here's the thing. NPC delve hot droppers are not dropping on the prepared person. They are dropping on, you know, they, they, they put a blue spy in and they look for someone who is not in beehive, right? You're dropping on people who are not following the rules, not following the best practices. So what that means is if you are doing that, you're a lot less likely to drop. You're a lot more likely to be saved. And it means you shouldn't pull your hair out when a crab dies in your space, because it doesn't make you less of a man and or a woman, right? Like I, so this is one of the things like that, the perspective that comes from playing EVE for many years, when it first happened, I get so frustrated when I first started playing, I'm like, why is this guy dying to Who was that dude who flew around deklin in those four interceptors who just killed Ishtars over and over. Some test guy. I can't remember his name right now.

Apple Pear:

But wasn't it Poitot or something?

Asher Elias:

Yeah, Poitot dot, yeah, that was him. Yeah. Samatra Poitot Dot, yep. Yeah. So I used to get so upset about that, right? Like, oh, they're just feeding him. They're just encouraging him. But what you have to know, is there always gonna be a person like that? And the thing to remember is it's probably some guy who doesn't speak English extremely well. He's got five kids crawling all over him and Eve is just fun time and just, just be cool. You know, it's annoying when you're trying to look at the collective, but it just is what it is. And you got to come to terms with that. But if you don't want it to happen to you, you know, you're, you're more tuned in than the average person if you're just at the fireside, put it that way. And so it will be, you know, It won't happen to you if you, if you prepare and do it correctly. You don't have to be the fastest person running away from the bear, you just have to be faster than the slowest person.

Did it, did you know that Poitot is the only named system in syndicate? Wow. That's a fun fact.

What would be good ships for someone to build? That's a great question. You can build capitals and there are like finance guys you can talk to that, but if you want to build doctrine ships, that's probably the best way to get yourself, you know, in a constant flow of ISK.

Kazanir:

Yep. A hundred percent.

Asher Elias:

Ragnar Jorgensen says if it annoys you when crabs die. Start building the ships and modules they use. Start being happy when they are dying because they make you ISK.

Snipereagle01:

Insert he's out of line, but he's right meme here. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Asher Elias:

Not too far off.

Snipereagle01:

I think we have some fleets to start forming, yeah?

Asher Elias:

Yeah, I think it's about that time. I'm looking at our questions are drying up a little bit. We're getting more memey as it goes on. Okay, guys, thank you so much. These numbers are excellent. I am very appreciative of you guys showing up. We will send out pings in the next few minutes, and we will see you on fleets.

Thanks for coming. Thanks for killing Mumble. You guys are amazing. See you soon.
