Fireside Chat Transcript 2025 03 22
Asher Elias:
Hello, how y'all doing? Incurso, you're such a charmer. Ready for my weekly dose of parasocial interaction. Very good. Hello, earth clan. I have all of Brave listening in right now. How's that happening? Oh, Brave standing. Are we relaying it to them? Is that how it's going on? Nice one, Amri. Good job. Refugees are indeed welcome on our mumble.
Alright, so I have a good number of things to talk about this week, then I'll handle some questions and we can get going from there. First off, I wanted to thank the incursion sig for clearing out two problematic spawns that came up this week. You guys nuke those things very fast. Thank you for keeping the shipping lanes open. Much appreciated. Probably a good time to mention that incursions can make a lot of money anyway, so if you guys want to make money, we are getting a ton of incursions now. So join Incursion Squad. That's just a nice way to make a lot of isk and they've adopted a new doctrine that it's pretty fun to fly.
Alright, we have several upcoming things, short and long term. We have Locust next weekend, so if you like mining, obviously Locust is the way to do it.
And, speaking of mining, the rocks have been out for a little bit now. People are really enjoying them. There is a lot to mine and I've heard basically only positive things about the new anomalies. So if you like sucking on big rocks, then they're available now. And basically everyone I've heard from has been saying it's good stuff, so, go out there and get to work.
Another thing we have is we have a strat op immediately after the fireside. Basically all of us, we're gonna take a trip with our pods or interceptors or shuttles or whatever over to Delve, and we're gonna install a jump clone. So this is gonna be everyone, wanna just fill those fleets, get over to Delve, throw our jump clone in there in the new jump clone station and get set up. This is not, this is for a different thing than totally blanking on the name of our alpha group. Yeah. It's very different. Yeah. CAD, thank you very much. It's very different than CAD. I definitely have not been getting enough sleep in the last few days. All right. So, that's immediately after the fireside. I'll do some questions and answers, and then we will form that and we will go there. I used to do work in AutoCAD Ragner, and I don't prefer it.
Here is a shout out to you. If you are a Rorqual pilot, not a shout out. Merely more of a warning. Due to the ansiblex changes, if you are in a Rorqual in Impass and it is not beehive hours, you are more difficult to save. So if beehive is down, there are mining anomalies, like in the 9 2 3 Constellation and other T2 mining anoms that you should probably use that are in direct Titan range of UALX. So you should be using those instead when beehive is down, the bad guys have, you know, logged off dictors on the jump bridges to make it easy to catch you. Also, when our guys have been going out to save these said Rorquals, they've been asking you about a cyno, and the person said, yeah, I will dock up my Hulk and get a cyno. It is too late at that point. So if you are mining out of beehive hours, move them to direct Titan range. If you want to save your Rorqual, Impass is probably not the best place to mine with Rorquals, non beehive hours.
We have, some other stuff to talk about. So AT is a while away, we will be doing, we are open to the idea of doing multiple AT teams this year. So that would be using alt alliances with characters that could stay blue. So if you wanted to go on an AT team you'd still be able to, so if you are interested, send a message to Stickzability. I'm gonna have him throw 35 Xs in channel. If you're interested in being an AT team captain, there's, yeah, we're getting about 35 coming up. Message Stickzability and let him know. We are gonna be able to support multiple teams this year, so reach out to him if you're interested.
And I also wanna shout out those of you in Elysium who have been watching for notifications and defending jump bridges in an ad hoc basis. We have been seeing that happen and that's what we hope for. And thank you to you guys. That's actually extremely helpful, extremely useful. So watch in Elysium in the channel we are looking at right now for jump bridge ref notifications and go stop them. Especially. Sometimes just, you know, a couple dudes just harassing it and you and your navy caracal and a buddy in a rifter can stop it from happening.
Kazanir:
I wanted to go back to the AT thing real fast. We're also planning to support anyone who wants to merc, meaning that you want join the team of another alliance for some reason, that is looking for people or your friend, your buddies with them, and they want you on the team. There are a few people like that. We're gonna have an alt alliance also dedicated for that so that they can stay blue, right? They'll still be on services. They don't have to mess with the rest of their EVE life and we don't want them to, they'll still be flying our flag in a sense, but are able to join other teams. That was the case for a few people last year and we didn't have a system for that, and we wanna support that.
Asher Elias:
Alright, and then let's see what else I gotta talk about here. Scouts. Yeah, we need Scouts. There's a couple of groups that we need people. Scouts is one of them. The, if you like, watching the enemy and heavy breathing, as I often talk about, and Da Baschti will scroll Elisium, Scouts is a vital group. It has always been an important group and it remains a very important group. We have been pushing our goals forward as far as taking new moons. We've taken many new moons in the Curse region and then there are still things to do and there are still fights to be had that we wanna push forward to. I was talking with our guys about that today, so go ahead and join Scouts if that's something that interests you. We really appreciate Scouts.

Another thing is, if you like to play Euro Truck Simulator 2025, the sig Sky Mules is available to join. And there we go. Sky Mules are space truckers. They are extremely important under the new rules. So if being a space trucker is something that appeals to you and helping the alliance, that is one way to do it. And it is recruiting. We definitely need more Sky Mules. They are super important to our operation and very useful. So Sky Mules needs you, Scouts need you. There are a lot of ways that you guys can step up and help the alliance. And that's just the two of them.

Okay, that is everything I had on my agenda to speak about. If you have questions, go ahead and throw them out there and I will try to answer them as best as I can. If you are sending a message on mumble, please join the channel, Elysium, that is on Jabber. Join the channel Elysium and send your question there. I am already seeing two questions pop up on Mumble. We answer questions on Elysium, on Jabber, and throw your questions in that channel.
Koahi. I am on episode eight or nine of Severance, I have not watched the finale yet. I'll probably watch it this weekend.
Yeah. CJ Allen says, I wanted to say thank you to the SOV team for getting all those T3 upgrades so fast. Bravo team. Yeah, they, that was lightning speed. They had it up basically immediately. That was pretty amazing. So, good shout out there. CJ Allen. I absolutely agree.
Mifune, are you high?
Can we glass Fountain to fuck with Init? No.
What is the best anime and why is it solo leveling? It is my job to troll not yours, but thank you. Appreciate it.
Lavender says, what kind coffee machine do you have? I don't drink coffee. A little too spicy for me.
Faction Keepstar status? So it is not progressed as far as I know, but I haven't asked for a report recently. I will put it on my thing for next week, Tagger, and I'll find out for you.
What happened to all the faction forts in Delve? So a combination of, we picked up some, some got destroyed in the war and a few still exist.
Zintage Enaka:
The question Asher.
Asher Elias:
To that faction fort in Delve. Thank you. Appreciate it. That was something that I believe what happened is we sold that to Brave, they sold it to a corp. That corp then went to Initiative. They decided it was too much of a pain to unanchor, I suppose, and killed it. I don't know the answer to that final bit, but I'm just gathering from looking at the kill mail.
Zintage Enaka:
That's basically the answer. Yeah.
Asher Elias:
And Shattered Armor says he can answer that, so he probably knows better.
Can we invade Fountain? No. I mean, the thing is, Initiative is not something I would, I would want to fight anyway. They're very competent, and I don't really have any hatred in my heart for them. So I don't know why I would wanna put all my effort into fighting them in the same way. That would be super annoying to fighting people that I really dislike. You know what I mean? You're gonna have to put effort into it. You're gonna have to really dislike the people that you fight. And I, I don't really have that for Initiative.
Yeah, I heard Absolute Order is trying to move to null saysWill Wheaton. I heard that too. I'm not sure how accurate that is. I'll be interested to see what happens.
Shooting Horde when? I believe last week was the, last time, like a few days ago. Selow, but that has been the basic plan. Yeah. Expect to see more coming up in, you know, the short term. You know, in the short term I wouldn't expect any kind of major invasion, anything like that, but we, we keep poking, we keep defining their borders and keep pushing them back a little bit, a little bit, a little bit. And we're gonna keep doing that. Right? That's sort of been, it's not a secret what's going on. That's sort of been what's happening. They have been basically, not taking fights. They've been falling back. And then if they feel like they have a chance to get us when we form small, which is what happened about a week and a half ago, they'll do that. But they're, they've just been being pushed back and. We should expect to see more of that.
War for content when? Alan says asking for Papp when war, right? Yeah. So this is what I'm addressing to you guys right now. So in the short term, no kind of major invasion. But in the medium term anything's possible. I certainly, I. I certainly am a big fan of war, put it that way. Let me just say this, this is sort of a overall thing. When I took over, our situation was, I think a shambles is a pretty reasonable term. Like we, we had essentially no money saved financially. We were doing really poorly and we have a whole team that's really helped us get to a better, better footing. If, if I could have day one sent out the Titan fleet and taken us to war, I would've done that. But you have to, you know, you, I think I was mentioned this last night though, the phrase, what is it? Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics. We have to be ready for an actual war that we can win. I don't wanna take you guys into a war that you can lose. You would be excited for two days and then upset for much longer, right? So a lot of my tenure here has been getting us ready for a war and getting us prepared and being in a place where, you know, we feel like, okay, this is actually a sustainable idea because it certainly wasn't, when it took over, it wasn't anywhere close to that. So many of you guys have been part of a rebuilding effort, and I think we're, I think we're there. You know, we have rebuilt, we've moved, we've grown. There's been a lot of good stuff that's happened. We've added new members. I mean, there's a lot of very good things, but the reason I get paid, which is $0, but theoretically get paid the big bucks, is to make the decisions and say, Hey, you know, we're not gonna go to war because it's the right thing. And, you know, I, I have to make decisions that are long term, will make you guys happy. And what will make you guys happy is winning a war, not starting one. So we're gonna, we're gonna win a war. We're not gonna start a war.
Zannis. No, no plans to expand my only feet. Thank you for asking though.
If Absolute Order to join Red, they may try to invade Catch. Maybe we will have that content. I do hate the C word, but I would love for Absolute Order to try to invade anything. I don't think that's an actual concern.
The latter Sapphire, Catch is a fine word. Content is not.
Boy, that is a fun name to say, says AO is a big highsec corp, which is a good, good info if you don't know it. They are sort of one of those corp that accepts everyone and they're famously terrible.
Snipereagle1:
Been in Provi for months. I don't know why we're treating this like its news.
Asher Elias:
Yeah, I think because it got put on Reddit this week.
Aoife says Asher is content with his feelings towards content. Little good English there. The English as a second language people are a little confused right now.
Do you use pepper on your food? Asher? Yes. I use pepper, little garlic, little onion powder. You know.
Zintage Enaka:
I don't believe you.
Asher Elias:
Yeah, I know .
Ranger Gama:
That's a total lie.
Asher Elias:
Yeah. Okay.
Ranger Gama:
The garlic. I could see that. Yeah. Garlic I can get, yeah.
Asher Elias:
Moab says I prefer pepper over salt. I don't know if I agree with that. I would, I would take salt over pepper if those were my choices.
Ranger Gama:
Xj, are you trying to kill Asher with cinnamon? Jesus dude.
Asher Elias:
Yeah. Come on. That's the actual coup attempt. Is this food?
Mifune with a slight improvement to his previous question says, do you think that Gordon Ramsey is secretly a robot designed by the Brits to make their food more appealing?
I can say there is a lot to recommend. The British Isles, their food is not part of it. It is. Ooh. It's rough over there. It's real rough over there.
Snipereagle1:
The Gordon Ramsey Super Bowl commercial was hilarious though.
Ranger Gama:
It was. If you guys have not seen that, you should just YouTube that. It was good.
Asher Elias:
Yogis asked. What about Cumin? Can't even do it. Sorry. Sorry. I was trying go the straight face there, but it's Cumin. Damn. I tried, I tried.
This guy says, Asher, can you try to say my name?
Snipereagle1:
Just key up while you face roll your keyboard and you'll nail it. I,
Asher Elias:
I, I can get this, uh, Weber ict. That was good. Nailed it on the first try.
Beyondnoxx_UNP:
It's actually worcestershire sauce.
Asher Elias:
Of course. It's that good. I like that.
Rastafane says, Asher, you should take it back. Our Indian curries are to die for in the UK. Like yeah, UK's pretty good at importing other people's food. That is true.
Aoife says, Americans, when they find out that mac and cheese and apple pies are British. Americans are just good at improving other people's food. So, I'm not gonna argue that we invented it, which is improved. It's like the pizza, right? The Italians have taken pizza back, but we took what was basically crappy Italian poor food, made it great, and then they've borrowed it back from us.
Zintage Enaka:
It's just gonna be cracks forming on Reddit, I swear to God.
Asher Elias:
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Soft insanity. Like this is like actual anthropological data here. Like if you want to know a little bit more about the world, pizza wasn't really a thing that was done in the Italy until probably the 1960s when it was brought back from America. And so any like classic Italian pizza place didn't exist before the 1960s. It wasn't a thing.
Probably not an Asher question, but I'm reading it anyways. But did the indy changes have any noticeable impact on titan super prices or bring them closer to usable? So I think it's done more for dreads and other capitals. I don't know that it's done enough to bring those closer to usable on Titans and supers. I think we need to see.
Snipereagle1:
Nothing substantially.
Zintage Enaka:
Yeah, they dropped substantially, but they're not closer to being used much.
Asher Elias:
They're just, they're just, they were so expensive that, yeah. It's still like they needed to be cut in like a quarter of the price, and they didn't do that.
Sapphirebloodsbane says, any thoughts on usability of T1 dreads now that they're cheaper? Yeah, so it's something we've been discussing Sapphire. The answer is maybe. There's still a ton of advantages to Navy dreads and you still need to have, you know, a butt in a seat, right? So if someone's in a T1 dread, they're not in a Navy dread. So right now I think what we're leaning towards is T1s for specialized things or you know, maybe some suicide missions, but generally, probably our overall alliance stance will be navy dreads.
It's a good time to talk about that. You know, we talk about war, we talk about fighting. The bad guys have been pushing dreads really super hard and we probably have not done as much because we've been focused on other things in the last few months. But you guys need to have dreads, you need to have them in droves. This is something I talk about a lot with. You know, other executors leaders, the kind of thing it is, how do you structure your alliance? There are two ways to do it. You can do a sort of top down structure, which is like taking money from renters, taxing, and getting really top heavy on your alliance. And that is how Horde, you know, builds their thing. They take in a ton of money. They use those for programs to get, put dreads in some people's hands and stuff like that. I do not believe that is the best way to do it. The best way to do it is to make your members richer. And so we are always focused on getting money into your guys' pockets, making you guys richer. The way that works though is that you guys need to have eight dreads, right? Like, that's, that's how that works. Because you know, I'm sure if you look in the Horde hanger versus our hanger, they have more dreads sitting there, like they have more ones banked up, but the way that their members make money, their members are poorer than you guys. So if you guys have eight dreads in your hangar, and it doesn't matter, right? It doesn't matter how many Horde has to give out. And so this will be, this will be the question that will be answered in the next war. It won't be, you know, who has the better FCs or, or anything like that. It'll be what philosophy is better? Is the philosophy of empowering people better or is the philosophy of empowering, you know, the top end better. And I believe that empowering the people is better. I believe that giving you guys more money is better. So the answer to that will be, do you guys have eight dreads, ten dreads, fifteen dreads? You know, that will be the answer to the question. When M2- happened and there was just, you know, tons of titans were replaced. I mean, obviously we had a lot and we won both those fights, but you know what people did? Like, some guy was like, oh, here, here's my extra avatar and here, you know, you're my buddy. Just take this avatar and if it ever gets reimbursed, you know, we'll figure it out, right? But that's how people would reship for the second fight because there, there, our members were rich, right? And so that's what I want for us too, you know? Um, be that person who is ready to give out three dreads, reship immediately. Here, I, I brought these extra ones. Like that is the kind of alliance that I envision and that we are pushing for. So I want you guys to know what the stakes are. So when we get there, there, there isn't any like, oh, I'm confused. I wasn't ready. This is me telling you, be ready.
All right. What have we got for other questions?
Can the goon standing fleet get SRP for home defense. Yes. Puffy, shit stack applies to home defense.
Any standard fit for T1 dreads? I don't know if we have T1 dread fits up or not.
Zintage Enaka:
We don't.
Asher Elias:
Zintage you can weigh in. Okay. Yeah, so not right now. We'll see if we want to put up one, but we generally are still pushing for Navy dreads, so Navy dreads and Zirns.
Better FC in GSF, Apple or Zintage or Asher? I would, I'm not gonna answer that, but I'll take myself outta the running 'cause I just don't FC enough these days to, so I would definitely be too rusty to count on myself. We have a lot of FC talent right now, so I am very happy with where we are.
Zintage Enaka:
Actually, I need to correct myself, Asher, we did leave all the T1 dread fits there.
Asher Elias:
I, yeah, I thought we might have, okay.
Do Goons, this is a great question. Avan Asrostane says, do Goons have any plans to get a foothold established in EVE Frontiers? Should we split our focus? No, we have no plans. We should not split our focus. The general consensus are, there are some people who are excited about that game. Maybe you are Avan. But I, you know, we've talked to our people and strong, strong consensus is people are not interested or excited about that game in any way at all? So, what happens over there will be just basically the ring game for us.
Snipereagle1:
You're correct. Will Wheaton, we don't wanna play crypto kitties island adventure.
Zintage Enaka:
Look, I'm not gonna lie, the crypto turns a lot of people off, but from what I've seen of it, 'cause I've been forced to see some of it. It's actually looking like a decent game.
Kazanir:
Yeah. I mean, it's cool and some people will find it cool, but will we do anything organized with it? Of course not, right? If you and a bunch of your buddies wanna play EVE Frontier, like more power to you and make a corporation, and if a ton of people from the Imperium suddenly do that together, maybe that those people will have success in that game. But the directorate and the alliance will not manage it. It's not part of us, right? It can grow up on its own.
Asher Elias:
I think this is a good time to form up for the strat op. So, there should be fleets up.
Zintage Enaka:
I have pings. I assume they have their fleets up.
Asher Elias:
Okay. All right guys. Pings going on in a second. We are just moving a jump clone over there, so this will not be a long fleet, but we do want everyone on board. So go ahead and move yourself now. Log in if you have not and get your character over there. Thank you so much for coming to the fireside. I will see you all next week.
Zintage Enaka:
Also, move your dread alts with this. They don't need a pod or anything, but move dread alt characters and put a jump clone as well.
