Fireside Chat Transcript 2025 04 05
Asher Elias:
All right. Hello ladies and gents. Yeah, Lerraine, my voice is a little shot. It's been a week. That too. I did talk a little too much last night.
All right. Welcome to the Fireside. I see some people still getting in here. If you want to ask questions or follow along and join Elysium on Jabber, the channel Elysium, that is the channel to ask questions. Please do not ask questions in mumble, join on Elysium and ask questions there. Tariel, you are required to clap or you will be banned from the alliance. That is actually how we operate. Thank you. Thank you for the applause. Thank you. Please do not stop. The first person to stop will be shot.
All right guys, so I'm here to announce our mining tax on anomalies. We will be taxing you guys retroactively for the last six months. So, just prepare to pay up for that. This is the kind version of the taxes. These are reciprocal of course. All right, so, if you haven't heard, Horde has decided to also tax their members on mining anomalies and it has been a pretty amusing week of Horde taking the L.
There was a Keepstar dropped by some Russian group in Horde space. If you missed the whole thing. They, they formed up a lot of people for it and shot the Keepstar basically against almost no resistance other than this Russian group that suicided into them. So, that just happened. There's a chance that they do the same thing to us, that is this Russian group. I do not know if they will, but there's always a chance. So just be prepared for that.
Can we tax salvaging too? Do not give me any ideas. I might just do that.
And Woosi, you're never too late to clap.
Tax docking, actually, that can be done, right? You can, you can make a docking fee. Kazanir, can we put a docking fee in? 69,420.
Snipereagle1:
I think that used to be an option, but they got rid of it.
Kazanir:
I don't know where that button is. Let me go look.
Asher Elias:
That might, that might've been on the old stations, right? The eggs. Hmm. I'm just looking at your great, great taxing ideas. Someone said tax the safe cyno fleet. By the way, guys, if you are using the safe cyno fleet, that is like just a private service that's run, it is good form to tip if you end up using that cyno. I usually throw 5 to 20 million per jump depending on what I'm doing. If you guys, but if you're not tipping, go ahead and give some kind of tip. I know for you Europeans, this must be really hard to imagine, but go ahead and tip. Tax on the fireside. Yes, indeed.
All right, so, we have some stuff going on. First off, I wanna talk to you guys about SIGs and squads. A lot of you guys are asking about getting involved, so I'm gonna highlight two SIGs and squads today that you can join. The first one is Gopniks. Gopniks are in EU time zone, and they have been growing a lot. So if someone wants to link their recruitment thread, Gopniks are a squad that is going around and shooting stuff and having a lot of fun. I've heard good stuff.
https://goonfleet.com/index.php/topic/364837-squad-the-gopniks-are-recruiting-eutz/
The other squad that I wanna talk about, there's some Gopniks. The other squad I wanna talk about is there is a German blops squad called the Black Hornets. And I have heard good things about Black Hornets. If you were into Black ops and you are apparently German, that is a place. So for all my German speakers listening today, go ahead and look at the Black Hornets.
So those are two SIGs and Squads. We'll be highlighting more and more SIGs and Squads for you guys to join. It's a great way to get involved, and it is a way to divide our efforts into something that is not just giant main fleet slams into things. Faros. If you understand German, I'm probably sure they'll take you. You can ask.
I did wanna talk a little bit about, about the Horde tax situation, and something we were talking about in meetings. And one of our directors says, oh, you know, horde has a lot more money than us. And I think that's really, was a really important point that he brought up. We think that Horde probably does have more money than us at the top. We, you know, we don't know what their finances are, but it is likely they have more money than us, you know, in that they, that Gobbins' account has more ISK in it than my account is probably true. But if you look at the MER Horde and Imperium, you know, PanFam and Imperium make basically the same amount of money. So they do not have more money than us. Their top has more money than us, right? You guys have more money than them. So the average Horde member is poorer than you. We do not make you guys rent any systems if you want to have access to, you know, nice mining anomalies. This is, this is the difference. So there is an equal amount of money going into both systems. It is just where they gather it, they collect it at the top, we spread it around to everyone. And so it's a, I think a point that I wanted to bring up that I think is important to understand, we're gonna keep doing that.
I, I've been talking about this when I go on, you know, Merkelchen's show and other things, that our focus is on making you guys wealthy, empowering you guys. And so if we come to a war, we're going to rely on you guys because we have invested in you. So we will see, you know. There is a culture war coming and that's gonna be part of what is decided, which culture was correct. Were we correct to give you guys the money or should we have hoarded it all? No pun intended, maybe pun intended. Yeah. Should we have hoarded it all at the top and kept it in our account and taxed the shit outta you guys, invented new ways to tax you, you know, forced you to rent from us, that kind of thing. This will be an important thing that would be figured out sooner or later. Tariel, oh, sure. I'll feel old. Go ahead and tell me. Okay, so, Pandemic Hoarding versus Share Swarm. I like that Sapphire. Good job. And yes. M2- was four years ago.
Alright, so today, after the fireside, we have a regional gate cover op to move capitals. And then at 2330 we have an op for the Bean Foreign Legion, the BFL staging fort. They have been evacing out of the fort, but that does not mean that they cannot jump right back in. In fact, it's easier to do that. So, this is gonna be a no hubris op at all. We will need a big form to destroy it. And then going into, I believe the timer will come out Monday for the hull. That will be US time zone Monday, which is a strong time zone for them. So, especially no hubris on the hull. We will need you guys there. This is a fort that we would very much like to blow up. So, if you guys can be there tonight and also on Monday, that will be very important. So. We saw them form up very big today. We know they're capable of doing it, and so I'd like you guys to be ready to fight. Alterarri is spamming in all caps. Important information.
Uma Therman says Asher Food Stream when? I actually thought about doing a cooking stream, that could be fun.
Alright, I wanna talk about a new Imperial member. I have mentioned this, but Sons of Bane has officially moved in and joined the Imperium. They will be living in Querious. They will be near Brave. Welcome to Sons of Bane. I don't think we have many of their members in here yet, but if you see them in local or in channel, please say hi to Sons of Bane. I've heard a lot of good things about them. People who have fought them say that for their numbers, they always put up a good fight. They'll reship into tornadoes or just be annoying. That's just the kind of thing that I like to hear. They'll be moving in next to Brave. They'll be helping Brave, Brave will be helping them. It is a mutually beneficial situation. Brave is excited to have them there and have them next to them, and Sons of Bane is excited to join us. They have left the Winter Coalition to join us. It was more of a language thing with them leaving. So, they have joined us now and we're excited to have them. So, welcome Sons of Bane.
All right, I'm going to now take some questions. So go ahead and throw some questions out. If you got one. I will answer it.
Sedjan is throwing out another Gopnik recruiting, even though we just did that.
Are Sons of Bane EU or US? Good question. So they are more US but have some EU but they're tilted towards US.
Palatine status, no updates on that for the last month or so.
What's the fight forecast for today's fort Asher asks Benjamin Hayward? So I am not as plugged in as I, I will be in a couple hours, but I would say probably below 50% seems like. It seems like those boys are a little tired. I would imagine it is more likely that they will punt on the armor and fight hard for the hull so that, if I was forecasting, I would say that is the more likely than them fighting hard for the armor and punting the hull. So, we're not gonna hubris tonight. And then for the hull we are going to give it our best. Okay. Stickz is slamming all caps and he is correct. Move your shit up so you can fight on hull.
Can we turn off ansiblexes so we can get roaming reds back? All they do now is camping. That's pretty funny. Nice. All right.
Are there any efforts to increase home defense, namely on the high sec highway to Keberz? No, that's not something that we are focusing in particular effort on Pepe.
Any changes to the ANSI network? Nothing planned right now. It is relatively hard to change the ANSI network.
Says, will TIDI be taxed? Do not give Gobbins any ideas.
Snipereagle1:
Hold on an for a sec.
Asher Elias:
You go ahead. No, you're good.
Snipereagle1:
I was just gonna say on ANSIs for a sec, last week we added the ANSI notifications to Elysium. Thank you to everybody who has just assembled a handful of friends to push little shitters off of shooting our jump bridges and please keep that up. It is very helpful when we don't have to form a hundred man fleet to go chase five bombers for 20 minutes.
Asher Elias:
That has been extremely useful.
TTT has a fortizar in perimeter again, are we gonna kill it says eagle claw. I do not believe so. Last I checked, there were multiple fortizars in perimeter with 0% tax rate, and that's what we cared about. We don't really care about a fort being there. We cared about the tax rate. As long as the tax rate's zero, then it's fine.
See a lot of tax ideas, you guys have are really diving in on the taxes and, and in really exploring that space.
Are ratting anoms being rejiggered asks Faustus Carcius? Some systems seem to have lost them. Yeah, so probably what you're noting, so think Faustus was that we moved some ratting anomaly upgrades out to put in mining upgrades, which you guys have dived right into by the way, tax free. So, if you noticed that it was probably because we were setting up maybe some T3 anoms for mining, that's what happened.
Can we tax tax suggestions? Good idea. David Wolf.
Do we have stats about T3 mining anoms? It feels like we're clearing these even faster than T2s a month ago. We've been watching them being used. I would say that, right now we're probably around parity as far as how many we have versus them being cycled. So we're pretty happy with the way our grant and there is a limited ability to add more without really gimping a lot of other things. So, unless demand really increases, I think we're probably in a pretty good place where you can have T3s and then go to T2s afterwards.
Snipereagle1:
The MER should drop sometime this week, and that should be really interesting to see what our mining numbers look like.
Asher Elias:
Yeah, in all caps, please do not type in all caps, but Cryos says, shout out to mainline beehive FCS JR, Kale, Xiopas, and DarkXL. Thank you for keeping the Isk machine running. Yes, thank you guys. Good. Shout out.
Oh, Alterarri. Yeah, I've already read this. I already read this, this ping the Ilum. 'cause the ending was so cringe. But yeah, I think I can read it. I think I can read it to the fireside. So, this is from RDMR in Pandemic Horde, and he links a battle report.
He said: "it's dead, Jim. The Keepstar has been killed. Absolutely massive form up by us, and we certainly made the statement we wanted to make. Much credit towards the hostiles for engaging us, being that outnumbered and outgunned, especially giving our capital some solid content. Towards the hostile leadership. We are always down to give you a fair and square battleship slash dread brawl, but the moment you are threatening our space, you have to deal with a different kind of Horde. The one that wins."
Dude Toaster Jane, furiously stroking my catana. RDMR. Holy shit, that's so good. Furiously stroking my catana. That dude definitely practiced the blade and I had no idea until you told me.
Zintage Enaka:
You're missing the important part here though, Asher. He's admitting that their default state is a Horde that loses.
Asher Elias:
Yeah. There is so much about that ping that is awful. Oh man. While you were dropping keepstars, I practiced the blade. Dude. The one that wins. The one that wins.
Snipereagle1:
Settle down Heisenberg.
Asher Elias:
This is like my, this is like my fan fiction. Age 13. The ta. Oh yeah. That is Big Tower of Legends energy. It is definitely giving Tower of Legends, the one that wins. Dude, I wish you would've brought this up, but when I have a hard time reading anything else, when I read that, dude, I just lost it. I'm Batman. It sounds like a bad anime cartoon. It really does. It really does, dude.
All right. Alright, wait on, let me get some other questions in here. Gobbins is selling Plex for real money to buy swords. Oh, all right, man.
Let's see. I've never seen Asher and Batman in the same room. That is true.
No, no one can talk about anything but swords, now can we go back to the shitty tax suggestions? I was enjoying that more. Swords. Alright, fuck everyone. We're doing a move op. I'll see you guys next week. Bye.
Snipereagle1:
You guys broke him. Jesus.
Beyondnoxx_UNP:
That's not often that happens.
Snipereagle1:
But yeah, there'll be a subcap ping in just a sec. And then, uh, cyno chains will be running until the op later.
Kazanir:
Let's form big goons.
