Ore Sites Beyond the standard asteroid belts, there are Cosmic Anomalies and Signatures that provide unique ore distributions. Miners must utilise the Agency or their Probe Scanner to find those pockets of space rocks. These are categorised into two types:

Cosmic Anomalies (Ore Sites)

These appear automatically in your Probe Scanner. You do not need Scanning Probes to find them. Simply "Warp To" the site.

  • High-Security Space (High-Sec) - These are the safest and most reliable sources of "bulk" basic minerals. Ideal for new players or those looking for low-risk, high-volume mining.
    • Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Enormous Asteroid Deposits.
    • Rocks: Veldspar, Scordite, Pyroxeres, and Plagioclase.
    • Primary Minerals: Tritanium, Pyerite, Mexallon.
  • Low-Security Space (Low-Sec) - Often called the "Industrial Engine" of New Eden. Due to the scarcity of Isogen in other regions, these sites are high-priority targets for sub-capital miners and pirates alike.
    • Sizes: Sizable (Rare), Large (Choice), and Enormous (Great) Asteroid Deposits.
    • Rocks: Jaspet, Hemorphite, Hedbergite, Gneiss, and Dark Ochre.
    • Primary Minerals: Isogen, Nocxium, Zydrine, Mexallon.
  • Null-Security Space (Null-Sec) - The Sovereignty Hub governs availability and requires specific "Ore Prospecting" upgrades. Site frequency is limited by the system's Power and Workforce resources; they do not respawn instantly.
    • Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Enormous Asteroid Clusters.
    • Rocks: Arkonor, Bistot, Gneiss, Crokite, Dark Ochre, Spodumain, and Mercoxite.
    • Primary Minerals: Megacyte, Zydrine, Morphite, Isogen, Pyerite.
    • Equinox Resource Ores: Introduced in the Equinox expansion, these are specialised ores found in Null-Sec systems with specific planetary resources. They do not provide standard minerals, but are required for Upwell structure parts and Sovereignty Hub maintenance. These are often mined to fuel the Sovereignty Hub or exported for high profit to industrialist players building the newest Upwell tech.
      • Dulcinium & Uganite: Found in systems with Lava or Plasma planets.
      • Yterbite & Eiferium: Found in systems with Storm or Gas planets.
      • Kixellite & Noxite: Found in systems with Barren or Oceanic planets.
  • Wormholes (J-Space) - These are the ONLY source of ore in these regions (no static belts). They are almost always guarded by Sleepers or Triglavian forces that must be cleared before mining begins.
    • Sizes: Various Ore Frontier or Ore Information sites.
    • Rocks: Varies by class. Often contains Abyssal variants or concentrated pockets of high-end Null-Sec ores.
    • Primary Minerals: Balanced across all T1 minerals, plus specialised Abyssal minerals (Isogen, Zydrine, etc.) in Pochven.
  • Pochven (The Triglavian Core) - Pochven mining is distinct because the ores (Talassonite/Mordium) provide Abyssal minerals in high concentrations. The environment is extremely hostile due to constant roaming fleets of Triglavians, Drifters, and Edencom, as well as players. There is no CONCORD, and the "rules" of Null-Sec sovereignty do not apply.
    • Sizes: Torpid, Radiant, and Liminal Trinary Deposits.
    • Rocks: Talassonite, Beidestine, Mordium, and Spodumain.
    • Primary Minerals: Isogen, Zydrine, Megacyte, and Pyerite.
  • Abyssal Deadspace (Extraction Sites) - Accessed via Extraction Filaments. These sites are temporary and exist within a 20-minute localised pocket. You must mine the rocks and exit through the conduit before the timer expires, or your ship and its cargo are destroyed. These sites often contain Triglavian Survey Databases as bonus loot.
    • Sizes: Small, Medium, and Large Extraction Pockets.
    • Rocks: Talassonite, Beidestine, and Mordium.
    • Primary Minerals: Isogen, Zydrine, and Mexallon.
  • Mining Escalations (Expeditions) - These are "private" sites triggered by finishing standard anomalies in Null-Sec. They appear in your Journal under the "Expeditions" tab. They are exceptionally lucrative but have a short expiration timer (usually 24 hours) and are often located several jumps away from the original site.
    • Sizes: Small, Medium, and Large Expeditions.
    • Rocks: Infinitesimal Veldspar, Rare Gneiss, and Oversized Spodumain.
    • Primary Minerals: Concentrated versions of standard mineral sets (High-yield).

Cosmic Signatures (Hidden Sites)

These require Core Scanner Probes and a Scan Probe Launcher to locate. They appear as a red "X" in your Probe Scanner and must be scanned to 100% signal strength.

  • Gas Clouds (Nebulae)
    • Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Vast/Bountiful Nebulae.
    • Rocks: (Gas Clouds) Cytoserocin (K-Space) and Fullerenes (W-Space).
    • Primary Minerals: Used for Booster (drug) and T3 Cruiser production.
    • Notes: Found in all security spaces. W-Space sites are guarded by Sleepers that spawn after a ~15-20 minute grace period.
  • Mineral Signatures (Rare Ore Sites)
    • Sizes: Small and Medium Deposits.
    • Rocks: Beidestine, Gneiss, and Crokite.
    • Primary Minerals: Isogen, Zydrine, and Mexallon.
    • Notes: These are "cross-regional" sites. For example, you can occasionally find a Gneiss or Beidestine signature in **High-Sec**, allowing players to mine "low-sec" or "abyssal" minerals without leaving safety.
  • Hyperfractures (Catalist Update)
    • Sizes: Variable.
    • Rocks: Prismaticide.
    • Primary Minerals: Prismaticide (Used for high-end advanced tech).
    • Notes: Exclusively found in Null-Sec. These are the most difficult sites to scan down and contain the most expensive ore in the game.
  • Ghost/Shattered Wormhole Sites
    • Sizes: Various.
    • Rocks: Shattered variants of standard ores.
    • Primary Minerals: High-density yields of all basic minerals.
    • Notes: Found only in Shattered Wormholes. These sites often have no NPCs but are located in systems where you cannot anchor structures, making them "mine and run" locations.
